I remember back a couple years ago I had an argument with a friend because he claimed there was no discernible difference between black and death metal.
my two friends and I earlier we had a conversation about what if the day had 25 hours instead of 24 and then we converted how many days a typical human lives and how shorter it would seem they lived if we had 1 hour more a day;
friend 1: "I would be ok with a 25 hour day, just means I have to wake up less times" friend 2: "that sounds horrible" friend 1: "well if you had my roommate with his alarm going off for an hour before he gets up, and me not wanting to get up you'd want less days too" friend 2: "but what if you woke up to a beautiful girl next to you?" me: "That's never going to happen" laughing with friend 2: "thats terrible" me: "we need like a community home for single nerdy guys! Lets get on this idea." laughing again with friend 1: "ok" me: "we could have like LAN parties EVERY NIGHT then!" friend 1: "well, at the rate we're going we may NEED a community home for single nerdy men."

In Sociology we were watching a documentary called "Merchants of Cool" about how companies hire people to pick up on social trends to resell it to teens. It ended up talking about Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, and Insane Clown Posse.
