As far as the feminist push in SW, that's nothing new either. Lucas had drafts of the script with Luke being changed to a female. In 1975.
It's directly what led to the idea of Rey as a character. This shit is not new.
The old movies had Leia in a gold bikini and wrrent shoving girl power in our faces. Leia and Padme were strong characters without them needing to shove it down our throats like the did with Rey
Apparently Disney has plans for a decade of Star Wars films. Obviously, episodes 8/9, Han Solo, Yoda and Obi Wan anthology films and then who knows but they're marketing lady I think it was name checked Po, Rey, BB-8 and I think Finn for more movies after the initial trilogy. Wonder if that means that this is going to be more than just trilogies if they're going to get anthology films. Side note, I'd totally watch a Po/Finn buddy comedy
The Obi-Wan Kenobi stand-alone is one of several projects being developed by Lucasfilm and Disney that fall outside the trilogies telling the saga of the Skywalker family. A Han Solo movie is now in the final stages of shooting under new director Ron Howard, and Lucasfilm is also considering pics centering on Yoda and bounty hunter Boba Fett, among other characters.
I’m not disagreeing with the fact that it’s getting run into the ground, I just don’t think it’s all that culturally important. It’s like saying Reece’s peanut butter cups are great food; sure, everyone likes them, but they make you fat and rot your teeth
Also, I loved StarWars. I breathed it as a kid. I obsessed over it growing up. And it pains me to see Disney pump out shit movie after shit movie and treat it just like aaaany other movie franchise. StarWars was something important to a lot of people and theyre shitting on it. And it frustrates me that you guys seem to be ok with it.
