It's not really a matter of testing it's more just predicting how many people are gonna try and flood the servers at one and how much money you're gonna allocate funds as a result. Obviously since they're a business they're gonna go with the lowest possible amount at first and adjust accordingly.
when you have that many people playing all at once the bugs that got through the cracks are gonna show. It's just gonna happen.most of these video game developers work 7 day 14+ hour days in the months leading up to launch.
Been hearing nothing but negative things about AssCreed Unity (basically it sucks and is buggy, but mixed things about Rogue (basically that Rogue is good but feels like an AssCreed 4 mod).
I havent played an AssCreed game since the first one though. Never really interested me that much. I've heard the series is going very downhill though.
Unity and Black Flag are my favorite ones. People probably hating on Unity because they amped the difficulty to a new high and gamers these days want everything handed to them.
I was initially resistant to purely digital, cuz I thought I liked having a hard copy that I could bring to friends houses and whatever. But after using Steam Im all aboard the digital train. Barely bring games over to friend's houses anymore anyways because you have to wait for gayass updates, and cant bring your save data along anymore.
I can just set my home console to a friends xbox and have them DL the game we want to play if i want. I have my buddy's console currently set as my home one, he can play Advanced warfare and he never even had to buy the game. This way we can take turns buying games rather then each of us having to buy every single game.

Its sad gamers dont like difficulty. Its what makes gameplay entertaining and worth it. Getting through a challenging game makes it feel like you've accomplished more.
you actually have to upgrade your shit and buy better weapons in Unity. The enemies are as aggressive as the cops on GTA IV and V. The parry system is changed too. You have to time it right or you're getting fucked up.

I remember the first time I played Megaman X8. I got fucked hard by the difficulty jump in that game from the first 7. Found out that they dumbed down the difficulty for U.S. releases on the first seven, but kept the difficulty of the Japanese games for X8. X8 normal difficulty was basically the hard difficulty of the first 7, and the hard difficulty of X8 was even harder.
