It doesn't seem a little silly to you that people have kinda forgotten the events of episodes 4-6, but they're still all driving the exact same types of vehicles?
I do wish they took a little more risks. But I understand they felt the need to appeal to the orig trig.
My biggest complaint isnt so much the nostalgia (though I do feel they reused a bit too much), it was the deus ex machina set up that irritated me the most. Too much coincidental occurances.
I feel like the references and nods were subtle and they didn't hit you over the head with them.
The main villain character being related to main characters, and a new Death Star, and BB8 holding the plans at the beginning, and starting on a desert planet didnt come off as blatant copying to you?

Exactly.
Though Ive had it pointed out to me these are a new model of TIE Fighter and X-Wing. Still though.
The technology jump from the prequel movies to the orig trig is so much more significant than the orig to this new movie.
I feel about the same about it as I felt about 'Death Magnetic': it's a nice attempt at regaining former glory, but the sting of the last few efforts is still too fresh and deep down it really just makes me wanna revisit the old stuff
All Star wars mega fans : Movie is amazing, if you disagree your wrong
Nah. I haven't even been sucking this movies dick just rebutting points and I've pointed out flaws it had. Don't even think I described it as amazing even just that it was a really good, solid stepping stone.

This is a fair reaction, IMO. The last movies created such a sinkhole of shittiness that it's hard for this movie to really stand out.
I think if you view each of the movies in context, however, this was an excellent follow to ROTJ in both spirit and content.
I actually dont think the prequel movies are as bad as people make them out to be. Do they suck compared to the originals? Sure. Are Jar Jar, Natalie Portman, and Hayden Christensen annoying? Yes. Is there too much CGI? Yes. Was dialogue cheesy at times? Yes.
But they did a lot good too. Fight scenes were great. It had good characters like Maul, Dooku, and Qui Gon. It had a lot of originality while simultaneously sticking to the confines of prepping the original trilogy. The "old" tech was interesting and different from what the original trilogy offered. A lot of it made sense.
They are good, but not great movies too. But I think they're equal to The Force Awakens. Definitely watchable.

lets be honest.
It was an unoriginal plot.
with a bunch of senior citizen cast members (which I enjoyed)
Acting was basic. Nothing griping.
it was enjoyable to watch with your eyes for sure but it wasn't anything spectacular. 7/10
