II is honestly the most disappointing film in the e tire franchise, considering its arguably the biggest/most important film in terms of what it sets up.
II had some bad ass moments though. The love plot was horrible horrible ass of course and the love dialogue was atrocious but pretty funny at least. Battle of Geonosis and The Lightsaber fight at the end were tight tho and the Droid factory as well.
IMO everything released since the original trilogy has done nothing but downgrade the franchise. Every major character from the early stuff has been sullied. Luke, Leia and Han lost. Then they got old and couldn’t handle their kids. The droids became the ridiculous string that ties everything together. Vader turned into an angsty pussy acting out. Background elements like Boba Fett and the Stormtroopers got unnecessary origins. Now Han gets his own movie that will, since it’s Disney, water down the hard ass that he came across as in the first movie (Greedo DID NOT shoot first). This current set of sequels have introduced exactly 0 interesting or unique characters. Star Wars is pretty much the Metallica of movies now: You can keep hoping for a return to form, but you should prolly expect more plundering of old elements
I’ve never watched any of the cartoons. The prequels turned my interest in Star Wars down from like and 8 to a 3. I didn’t watch Rogue One until it hit Netflix and the only reason I saw Last Jedi in the theater was because I have an 8 year old son...and even he didn’t like it.
