Hard to judge what goes where until you complete the trilogy, re-watch it 1,000 times and discuss the flaws for 30 years.
Then it might become your favorite. It's the joy of Star Wars. If they were perfect films, they wouldn't bring out so much passion in their fandom. Everybody loves different movies, different characters, different plot points. It's what fuels the discussions. If everybody agreed, the convo would have been over decades ago.
Saw Last Jedi again tonight. This time with my son. It still blows. The way they portray all the old characters ruins the original trilogy. Knowing they all go and fail the rest of their lives makes me feel like “So what did they win?” on the OG trilogy. JJ Abrams fucking sucks. I hate what he did with Star Trek, too
Its bullshit the Empire is still in place. The rhetoric sounds like the Rebels established a new Republic and The Order are a new radical group trying to overthrow it, but they have more firepower, more men, better tech, and more control of the galaxy... FUCKING HOW?
I actually never found it stupid that the Empire was still in place. I always found it kind of silly that after the second Death Star blew up they vanished. Like, they still had thousands of troopers and a bunch of tech.

I wouldnt expect them to vanish, but they lost the war. Theyre most powerful weapon destroyed, Vader and The Emperor defeated. And they established in episode 7 that a new Republic was formed and was the new leading government in the galaxy, and that The Order was an offshoot trying to reclaim the Empires glory. It just doesnt make sense that theyre more powerful than a Republic that has seemingly been in existence for over 30 years between the end of 6 and start of 7
Just watched the Force Awakens because we are going to Disney in a couple of weeks. I think the only other one I’ve seen all the way through is phantom menance. It was interesting. My son enjoyed it so maybe we will watch the others
