They went out together, which is fine by me. It's what he wanted anyway. If he would have killed Euron faster he probably would have made it to her and they would have had a much better chance at escape. I've never really cared about either of them though so it's whatever to me
I’ve watched the finale twice now. Maybe it’s all the hype and fan theories I had read going into the final episode but I was just left feeling underwhelmed by it.
The first 20 mins I was into it and then it just got slow and boring IMO.
Death is not the worst of evils.
You can't be down, when you're always high.
Most of the fan theories were better written and had more thought put into them. There is an old interview with the show runners where they said something along the lines of being happy with the show if they made it up to the Red Wedding. You can tell they just wanted out so they can move on to making Star Wars even worse. They were offered more episodes by HBO, but they declined them and said they could wrap it up with the shorter seasons. Everything was rushed and therefore lacked any emotional pay off or depth to it.
Correct me if I'm wrong but dont the writers have the film rights from GRRM to make the show? So its not like HBO could fire them and hire new writers to keep making new seasons. Sounds like HBO was fucked
I'm not sure if they had the rights or if HBO did. They brought it to to HBO so they probably had some contracted rights to it. HBO has several spin off plans for other Westeros stuff but from what I know it's prequels. I hope to someday get a more book accurate animated series out of it the current show someday.
GRRM hasnt even talked about the show in a loooong time. He completely checked out too
He made some comment recently about it not being faithful but didn't say much else. Even back in the early seasons he was pretty vocal about small changes D&D made and how they were going to snowball into bigger issues.
