All these people shocked she went Mad Queen. Literally her only character motivation since day 1 was "the throne is mine". Have we forgotten she happily watched her brother die, and she has slave soldiers?
Ive always hated Dany. Least interesting character in the whole show.
It was even worse in the books. Half of A Dance With Dragons was Dany POV chapters where the reader is subjected to her being a dumb teen while trapped in her head. "ERMAGERD NOBODY RESPECTS ME I WANNA FUCK THAT GUY BUT RESPECTTTT FUCK ERRYONE"
My main complaint was the cheap writing the show has abided by since the beginning of Season 7. It's straight up been Game of Thrones: Michael Bay edition. I get that people have frustrations with the latest episode, but to be honest it was a lot better than I expected from the stupid bullshit that was The Battle of Winterfell. Then again, it had the benefit of daylight filming.
It's taken such a dive the last couple of seasons all you can really do is turn your brain off and enjoy the spectacle they are now presenting. Still not sure why they shortened the last two seasons, now there is no time for anything and they just keep hitting the high spots without filling in the rest. They don't really give time for anything to have much depth or meaning anymore.
GRRM never finished the books so D&D have nothing much to work with and they’re tired of waiting/ probably doing the series which is why the last two seasons are short

The issue isn't just D&D not having source material, it's the fact that every time leading up to these seasons that they made changes or wrote in their own storylines, it fucking sucked. They can't write for shit. That fucking Craster's Keep storyline from Season 5? Jaime and Bronn in Dorne? Everything else since season six? They hit some high notes with the last two episodes of season six but I can almost guarantee GRRM had a lot more details laid out for them for The Battle of the Bastards than anything after.
Also, once the show reached a certain level of popularity, D&D stopped having to try and write dialogue beyond a 7th grade reading level. Without GRRM holding their hand, they completely shit the bed.

Im still enjoying it but it just doesn’t have that Game Of Thrones feel to it anymore.
