It’s not like HBO is happy the way things ended. It was so good for so long. They tried to throw large buckets of money at them and give them more time to conclude the series. They got turned down. We got screwed as fans but they lost a shit ton of money due to that shitty ending. No one wants to go back for umpteen rewatches now. It went from being a GOAT series contender to becoming the text book example of fucking things up.
HBO wants us back. They have source material. They still have tons of the people that worked so hard to make the thing we love before literally 2 people fucked it all up.
