It has been a great year for me in the album department. Gorguts and Carcass put out two stellar albums after being gone for so long. Deafheaven put out an unique album that blurred the lines between metal and shoegaze which I found out I really dig. Then the doom genre has also had a great year with some great releases from SubRosa, Windhand, Lycus among others. There have been numerous other releases that have been fucking great and will be in my top 20 once I finally put something together. I can honestly only name around 10 album's that I listened to and wanted no part of again, so in my opinion it has in fact been a great year of music.
Gojiras last album was decent, just in the way that the new carcass is prob decent... But we all know that it's no the way of all flesh and that's what I think like Rex is trying to say.. Three years from now peeps are gonna be jammin old school carcass still not the new album..
On second thought I will just keep it short and sweet with this one
BDM: I got to the venue around 7 and found out BDM wouldn't be coming on until 10:35 so I ended up watching a lot of Ska and Punk bands that I didn't see my self ever watching but there were also some more metal oriented bands playing that I dug and the two most notable ones beside BDM were Wilson and Against The Grain. Now onto BDM they came out sounded tight as hell and kicked ass for about 45 minutes. Everyone sounded great and I'm warming up to Alan Cassidy as a drummer he seems more comfortable behind the kit and just looks more smooth and less robotic then when I first some him with the band way back on the Dethklok show. They played the set similar to the Warped set with a couple other songs thrown in for good measure and that was that. After their set I talked to Trevor for a moment and went on my way. Didn't pick up any merch because the only one I wanted was sold out in my size... Oh well. The crowd also really dug them but definitely not as crazy as a normal headlining show but it was still a fun crowd. Can't wait to catch them on the Carcass tour in April. This ranks probably somewhere in the middle of the 9 times I have seen them just because they had a shorter set then normal but they sounded great so it was still a 9/10 show.

Like I said I heard a lot of individual songs I liked but albums as a whole didn't really catch my attention except the one
