I know some of you guys don't take my musical opinion that seriously, but music really is what i treasure most in life. I really do research and get involved. First Fozzy record I ever heard was Chasing The Grail. Immediately after I listened, I did research, found out Ward used to be in another band and then started reading about Stuck Mojo. Love him in Fozzy so it was a no brainier Stuck Mojo was probably also great. Went to a record store later that week and found Snappin Necks in a discount bin for $2. Loved it. Love Stuck Mojo.
day 1 of boston calling sort of sucked. my gfs friend had to be driven to worcester before boston which added 2hrs to our commute, and I missed sylvan esso. smoked before going in and it was really disorganized, just a mob of people waiting to get in and by the time we entered the venue security had given up searching people, which isnt really comforting given recent events. they weren't even searching bags as people went in. caught the last 20 minutes of mac demarco, the first few minutes of bon iver, and then got close for all of sigur ros. it was aesthetic af watching sigur ros in the rain, amazing show, but not about this whole disorganized festival life so far. I'm not usually an anxious person but when you're stage front between thousands of people and start smelling something like burning gunpowder you get worried
day 2 was a lot better. mumford and danny brown were awesome, also i met hannibal burress. seems like they had a lot more people working it which helped line flow and shit. today is the main event day, picking up my concert buddy from south statiom at noon and getting to the venue, then the chicks are on their own.
Past two days have been fucking amazing. Tool was fucking orgasmic. I was mesmerized the entire show. The visuals were incredible and the bands playing was tight as fuck. Can definitely see why Todd and Rex go out of their way for this band. And speaking of, the forumers enhanced this experience. Jobe was a really cool dude (despite the Deftones hate), UP wasn't scared of my browness and hanging with Rex and Todd was dope (thanks again for the water and the beer my dudes). All in all, it really was a perfect concert experience.
Set:
1.) The Grudge 2.) Parabol 3.) Parabola 4.) Schism 5.) Opiate 6.) Aenima 7.) Descending 8.) Jambi 9.) Third Eye 10.) Forty Six & 2 11.) Drum Solo 12.) The Pot 13.) Sweat 14.) Stinkfist
Deftones was fucking incredible live. Eat it, haters. They just bring it every time I've seen them. The energy, the chaos of it all is a beautiful thing. Chino can still belt it out like crazy. Was in the pit and had an awesome view and the set was lit. Lot of old tunes.
1.) Headup 2.) My Own Summer (Shove It) 3.) Lhabia 4.) Swerve City 5.) Digital Bath 6.) Back To School (Mini Maggot) 7.) Elite 8.) Phantom Bride 9.) You've Seen The Butcher 10.) Rosemary 11.) Change 12.) Diamond Eyes 13.) Be Quit And Drive (Far Away) 14.) Rocket Skates
I'm not really that big on Rise Against. Loved their older stuff but the newer stuff is crap. That being said, they were very entertaining live and even the new stuff kept me entertained. They were cool to see and I got a little bit of nostalgia from the older stuff. Really enjoyed myself. People live Here was gay as shit though.
Set:
1.) Ready To Fall 2.) The Good Left Undone 3.) Re-Education (Through Labor) 4.) Satellite 5.) The Violence 6.) Help Is On The Way 7.) Give It All 8.) Welcome To The Breakdown 9.) Prayer Of The Refugee 10.) People Live Here 11.) Wolves 12.) Savior
These two shows have been a blast and a much needed escape. Back to reality tomorrow, but I am satisfied.
