I don't know if I'm a burnt out old man but seeing Megadeth last year was without doubt the most boring show I've seen from them. The only thing that redeemed it was finally seeing Tornado of Souls, and getting to see Chris Adler with the band. Never seeing them again unless they're with someone else I need to see
Also the lack of Zombie burnout is understandable but you have to admit he isn't a good live vocalist. It's almost all vocoder distortion and even that can't mask how out of breath he gets. And that was back in 2010/2013, can't imagine how he is nowadays
I can definitely see Megadeth thing. Like I said, first time I saw them, they didn't even look like they wanted to be their and they were head lining. Fasho put me off seeing them lives for a bit. Went and saw then when they were head lining last year because I wanted to see Suicidal Tendencies and they tore a hole through the roof man. They were re-energized and they were great yesterday so I'm back on for their live shows til they disappoint me again lol as for Zombie, I thought he sounded awesome. Really energetic and he gave a good performance. I have no beef
Pig Destroyer -They tore the fucking house down holy shit. I even understood about 40% of what they said lol not really my type of music, but man they were a blast live.
Body Count -Been waiting to see them again for a while. They were pretty cool this time around as well. My only complaint was that Ice rambled on for a little too long. Also, their sound was off. It was basically a vocals and drum show. Couldn't hear either guitar worth shit.
Set: 1.) Raining Blood/Post-Mortem Cover 2.) Bowels Of The Devil 3.) Manslaughter 4.) No Lives Matter 5.) Body Count 6.) There Goes The Neighborhood 7.) Talk Shit, Get Shot 8.) The Ski-Mask Way 9.) Cop Killer 10.) This Is Why We Ride
Seether -Everyone here knows I have a major soft spot for this band. And I can't help it because, yet again, they were terrific live. They sound better than they do on the album. They had some sound issues too though. Sean's guitar kept going out but he was so entertaining while the problem was being worked on, it didn't even matter. Just great great performance all around.
Set: 1.) Gasoline 2.) The Truth 3.) Rise Above This 4.) Nobody Praying For Me 5.) Fine Again 6.) Words As Weapons 7.) Let You Down 8.) Country Song 9.) Fake It 10.) Remedy
Clutch -Was super hyped to see these guys and they did not disappoint at all. They sound better than they do on album and have such a crisp live sound.
Set: 1.) The Mob Goes Wild 2.) Earth Rocker 3.) A Quick Death In Texas 4.) Immortal 5.) Cypress Grove 6.) The Face 7.) How To Shake Hands 8.) Noble Savage 9.) Electric Worry 10.) X-Ray Visions 11.) Firebirds 12.) The Wolf-Man Kindly Requests
Godsmack -Havent seen these guys in 4 years so not gonna lie, was pretty excited and man did they Rock. Everything was great about their show. Wish they would cut the fucking drum battle and played another couple tunes but other than that, I've no complaints. A visually stunning show as well.
Set: 1.) Whatever 2.) Greed 3.) 1000hp 4.) The Enemy 5.) Cryin' Like A Bitch 6.) Awake 7.) Something Different 8.) Straight Outta Line 9.) Voodoo 10.) Batalla De Los Tambores 11.) Come Together Cover 12.) I Stand Alone
Korn -Do I even really need to explain that I'm a fan and I love them? Because I'm a fan and I fucking love them. They were outstanding. Perfect sound, new light show that fit in really well, hell even a couple set surprises that were really nice. I think this is the most I've ever seen Davis talk to the crowd lol they were engaging and just simply amazing to watch, in my opinion.
Set: 1.) Rotting In Vain 2.) Falling Away From Me 3.) Here To Stay 4.) Y'all Want A Single 5.) Black Is The Soul 6.) Shoots & Ladders 7.) Twist 8.) Got The Life 9.) Coming Undone/We Will Rock You 10.) Insane 11.) Make Me Bad 12.) 4 U 13.) Blind 14.) Somebody Someone 15.) Freak On A Leash
And with that, day two is a wrap. Had a blast, man. Was feeling a little burnt out towards the end b/c I haven't done this festival shit in a while but overall I'm loving this. First little va-cay in almost a year and I'm spending it watching and grooving to bands that I love and enjoy and even a few new ones that Ive enjoyed. Can't wait for tomorrow.
You didn't watch anything between Pig Destroyer and Body Count? Avatar, Metal Church, Dragonforce, hell Mushroomhead puts on a good live show though I haven't seen them since a bunch of their members bailed.
Don't know who Avatar is, 0 for Mushroomhead and DragonForce (caught Through The Fire and The Flames tho) and watched some of Metal Church from the Monster tent.

Dragonforce is rad. Their newest two albums are great. Metal Church is rad too.

That's cool. I just think part of the benefit of these festivals is you get to check out bands you maybe wouldn't give a chance otherwise. Ape and I had never seen Avatar prior to Louder Than Life last year and now we're both fans. Glad it's been fun so far though.
Yeah I definitely feel that. I was in the pit for PD the whole time and just needed to recharge lol I've been checking out bands I've never seen or heard of for the most part. I just didn't wanna pass out because I know I'm jumping back in the pit for all of Slayer later haha
Day 3 was probably my favorite. The performances were better overall and I enjoyed the earlier heavier portion of this show. Pits were insane.
Hellyeah -Eh. I saw then on Mayhem 2015 and they were fun. They were nothing special this time around. I could've skipped and missed nothing, really.
Set: 1.) X 2.) Demons In The Dirt 3.) Moth 4.) Human 5.) Cradle Of Bones 6.) I Don't Care Anymore (Cover) 7.) Hellyeah
Amon Amarth -Fucking hell \m/ first time seeing these guys and they easily stole the entire fucking weekend for me. They were incredible. If the cartoon characters in Metalocalypse came to life, it would be this band lol seriously though, their stage presence was fucking mighty powerful. It really felt like we were being invaded by Vikings. It takes a special band to make a giant Viking ship and sword fights between guys in armor not look cheesy and they pulled it off magnificently. Loved every minute. Will def be looking more into them.
Set: 1.) The Pursuit Of Vikings 2.) As Loke Falls 3.) First Kill 4.) The Way Of Vikings 5.) Deciever Of The Gods 6.) Death In Fire 7.) Raise Your Horns 8.) Guardians Of Asgard 9.) Twilight Of The Thunder God
Lamb Of God -Yeah yeah I know how everyone feels about them now and I still give absolute 0. They still kill live. I love watching these guys perform. It's a treat every time, even though the set isn't always my favorite. I still had a blast during them.
Set: 1.) Laid To Rest 2.) Now You've Got Something To Die For 3.) 512 4.) Engage The Fear Machine 5.) Descending 6.) Ruin 7.) Blackened The Cursed Sun 8.) Still Echoes 9.) Walk With Me In Hell 10.) Redneck
Stone Sour -They were pretty cool live. First time seeing them. I really don't have much of an interest in this group but they put on a cool live show. Still don't understand why they were mainstage and Slayer was side but oh well. Left after Bother to go get a good pit spot for Slayer.
Set: 1.) Taipei Person/Allah Tea 2.) Made Of Scars 3.) Say You'll Haunt Me 4.) 30-30/150 5.) Bother 6.) Tired 7.) Do Me A Favor 8.) Song #3 9.) Through Glass 10.) Fabuless
Slayer -These guys are not capable of putting on a bad show. That's why I love them and will always go see them live. It's always furious, intense and just a shot to the gut. Always always always soooo fucking good, man. This was my fifth time and I already can't wait for the next one.
Set: 1.) Repentless 2.) Disciple 3.) Hate Worldwide 4.) War Ensemble 5.) Mandatory Suicide 6.) Born Of Fire 7.) Dead Skin Mask 8.) Seasons In The Abyss 9.) Hell Awaits 10.) South Of Heaven 11.) Raining Blood 12.) Chemical Warfare 13.) Angel Of Death
Ozzy Osbourne -I finally get to check him off my list. Was worried I would never see his solo act. He sounded great and looked healthier than the last time I saw him with Sabbath. Zakk Wylde was shredding his ass off. It was an awesome show all round. Glad I got to scratch another one off my legends list
Set: 1.) Bark At The Moon 2.) Mr. Crowly 3.) I Don't Know 4.) Fairies Wear Boots 5.) Suicide Solution 6.) No More Tears 7.) War Pigs 8.) Drum Solo 9.) Iron Man 10.) Shot In The Dark 11.) I Don't Want To Change The World 12.) Crazy Train 13.) Mama I'm Coming Home 14.) Paranoid
I really enjoyed the last 3 days. It's the first time in a long time I've gotten to just relax and forget about bullshit. I really miss the Festival scene. I think what I missed most of all was just getting together with my buddies and hanging out all day listening to music we love. It was just an amazingly fun time and I can't wait to do it again next year.
