For the record, I have only worn them at Ozzfest and will probably only wear them if I go to a huge show like that and I'm up close. I'm not wearing them in clubs for now.

I agree because of the closed environment but you should also wear them at large venues because they really crank up the system there. For me, earplugs are a must. You may not notice a difference the next day or anything but there's proof that your ears get damaged at concerts.
