think about him and pavel on the same line with zbag, oh my lawrd
He's not going to play here for another two to three years. Draft picks that late in the draft rarely jump to the NHL. Plus the Wings have more depth at forward than most teams so they have the luxury of letting their draft picks develop until they are ready. Looks like they had a great draft yesterday. They picked up a good bunch of players.
Free agency starts Friday at midnight. That's what I'm excited about because the Wings are going to be very active looking for some good defensemen.
The NHL is going to completely re-align itself after next season:
The return of the Winnipeg Jets to the NHL will create a ripple effect throughout the league with a dramatic realignment for the 2012-13 season as a result, multiple media outlets have reported.
Winnipeg, which is the new home of the relocated Atlanta Thrashers, will play the upcoming 2011-12 season in the Eastern Conference's Southeast Division despite being 70 miles north of Minnesota.
With Western Conference teams Detroit, Nashville and Columbus hoping to be relocated to the East, the NHL has opted to realign the entire league rather than shifting Winnipeg, according to the Sporting News.
The purveying plan seeks to divide the league into four divisions -- two with eight teams and two with seven teams. The plan will likely be finalized at December's Board of Governors meeting.
Commissioner Gary Bettman hinted at changes to come in his annual state-of-the-NHL address before the Stanley Cup finals opener earlier this month.
"All those clubs need an opportunity to be heard," Bettman said. "That's a process we'll go through the first half of next season, looking at the issues that clubs want to raise, looking at various possibilities, and trying to figure out what will make the most sense moving forward."
Bieksa re-signed with Vancouver Ehrhoff is negotiating with Buffalo and it looks like he'll sign Wisniewski is probably going to sign with Columbus because they'll pay out the ass for him
Sooooo once free agency starts at noon tomorrow I'm hoping the Wings look at these defensemen:
Ed Jovanovski Ian White Cam Barker
Then I think they should look at a forward like Joel Ward or Tomas Fleischmann. In Holland we trust.
Jagr hasn't made a decision yet. The Wings and Pens are the two teams that are most interested right now, but I don't think we've made a contract offer yet. I think we're waiting to see if he chooses us before we offer him a deal. He can't sign until tomorrow at noon anyway.
