I'm with Xeno, the price for video games has not scaled with the technology. Shitty 2D Atari games that one dude developed in like 3 months cost 40 bucks back in the 70s which is like 150 bucks when adjusted for inflation. Nowadays development takes a few years and involves hundreds of people.

I can guess the one disagree is MC despite not being able to actually refute a single point made there
These companies been nickel and diming with DLCs and microtransactions for years, plus most sales are digital now meaning they arent even spending money on packaging or physical goods.
They wanna start charging more, start offering more, and cut off the nickel and diming.
Nah my point being that people acting like DLC is somehow causing games to be released incomplete, when in reality most games are released as 30 to 100 hour experiences and additional DLC is released later. All of of my favorite games from this generation haven't even included meaningful DLC
While id admit that it's improved recently, day 1 DLC was a standard in the late 360 days. The best parts of the Mass Effect 3 campaign were paid DLC that the disc shipped with, that you paid to unlock
I had close friend play through the base game and all DLC and tell me it's an inferior game to the Souls series because the combat can be more easily cheesed. I think that's bullshit and Wild Hunt is the best RPG ever made despite the criticism of it not being a "true" RPG because Geralt is a pre-existing character

I like full experiences, so if I want to play all the story or missions, I have to buy DLC
