If you would, for one second, put yourselves in the shoes of those who were directly affected by the attacks on 9/11, you can see why so many people have a problem with it. It's hallowed ground, and to build a Mosque so close to ground zero, is disrespectful in many people's eyes. This isn't about freedom of religion. Nobody is saying they can't have a Mosque, they just don't want them to build it where they want to build it. Why exactly do they have to build it so close to ground zero anyway? They had to know this was going to piss a lot of people off.
Americans are fighting a war against Muslims, when we should be fighting a war against extremism. This is absolute bullshit. Islam is no more a single entity as Christianity or the GOP. I want a full explanation from someone who believes this is ridiculous.
Thank you.
The ones who are angry about this are mainly fear mongering ignorant assholes that don't see the difference between Islam and the extremist side of it even though it's really no different than any other major religion. It's like I bet not near as many people would care if the president's middle name was McVeigh...
That's beyond disrespectful. That's like burying the victims of columbine behind a gun shop.
*facepalm* Can you please leave the forum again for awhile?
Why? Because I have an opinion that's different than yours? Suck it up, hombre.

Those people shouldn't have a problem with Muslims in general. I don't really like talking about it, but my Dad is a survivor of the south tower. I was in third grade at the time, but I remember it like yesterday. He was able to get out in time and safe, but he knew several people that died. He hasn't really been the same psychologically since, still has a small fear of flying, and wouldn't go see ground zero in New York. He nor I have any problem with Islam as a religion, even though it nearly took his sanity from him. They're just building a mosque two blocks away. It in no way is directed towards the legacy of the event. People are making it a bigger deal than it should.

I try.
Everything anyone does pisses people off...
Can't make everyone happy.
No, it's because I feel like I'm losing brain cells after reading your idiotic comments, lol.
Seriously though, why all the hate towards a single religion because of some extremists that claimed to be part of it? Discrimination is bad mmmkay?
