I don't see why not. Are you insinuating that you won't like Iron Maiden when you're 75? People don't change opinions on things easily (take your opinion on tattoos for instance). If they like the band so much that they'd get a tattoo about then it shouldn't be considered stupid. If they begin to dislike the band then it's more of a reminder of the good ol' days or how it got them through hard times.
I also think that if I got one, I got it to signify my love for the band, not to commemorate a time in my life
Now you get it. People get tattos for the very reason you just stated. Clearly Santana feels that Slipknot has been important enough to him to be getting a tattoo about the band that he has loved for x years. Therefore, why shouldn't he get a tattoo for that or anyone get a tattoo for something they love or has had meaning to them. When someone is 75 and has a tattoo that they put a lot of meaning into they won't look down scold it, they'll look down and remember the meaning behind it.

But what I'm saying is that is a temporary feeling. I think getting a permanent physical mark about something temporary is irrational. Using that quote out of context changes the meaning.

Well Wine, I guess it's just more of a moral thing rather than a logical thing. You seem to be the guy who does things by how logical it is and others do it by emotion. I'm more of the in between guy who believes some tattoos are best left unsaid and others to be really cool. Santana is an emotional thinker and believes that a tattoo is something that comes from his love of whatever it symbolizes so i'll just leave it at that
<_> I will admit that a lot of the time I think with emotion. I will say that's because of the musician in me. Music is all about emotion buuuuuut I do have a sense of logic I just choose to ignore it now and then
sometime i want to get a cross of confusion tattoo. not only because devildriver is a great band but because of what the symbol actually meant in the old days
Well, regardless of Wines contradicting opinions, I definitly plan on getting the Slipknot Nonogram tattoo on my right upper arm, with a banner under it that says "Don't Ever Judge Me"
And on my left upper arm, I plan on getting a Cold spider logo.
