I think they're a little too quick to reboot things lately. I'm hoping this is just a continuation and not another origin story. The director isn't bad though. He made some Game of Thrones and Westworld episodes along with a cult werewolf movie called Dog Soldiers that I really liked
As for IT. It felt more like a fantasy horror when it came to the scenes with Pennywise. For me the actual "horror" was the real world aspects that play into the kids lives. The way it manipulates their various forms of abuse was fairly unnerving, especially Bev's dad.
It's not about that. He loved that role. It's his favorite. His dedication to that role was insane. Never bitched even though the make up took hours and he's the reason they got a sequel. He's been lobbying for a third to conclude the franchise forever. He passed up so many roles for it. He deserves to do Hellboy.
Oh, I'm not saying that. I loooooove me some Ron Perlman ever since I was a kid in the 80s on Beauty and the Beast. It just seems odd to "reboot" a character and make it look exactly like the prior films versions. Especially when the movie version isn't directly based on the comic due to Mignola's particular style. This new pic could've been passed off as Perlman and not many people would've been able to tell otherwise
Anyone that's ever seen the story about Perlman donning the Hellboy makeup to visit the kid dying of cancer knows that man is both awesome and dedicated

Idk how interested in him you are, but have you read his book, "Easy Street (The Hard Way)"? It's a fantastic read. Dude has been shit on all his life and was still fighting tooth and nail for roles even after he was "famous." He goes real in depth about the Hellboy process and it's crazy how you can feel how much he loves it when you read it. It sucks too because even his huge roles he goes in depth of how he wanted something different and the creators just kinda type cast him. He talks about Sons Of Anarchy briefly and talks about how he hated the last couple seasons because of the way they wrote his character and how it soured the entire experience for him. He wanted Clay to be taken such a different route and said everyone just disrespected him and how Sutter just shut his suggestions down. It's a fantastic read if you have the time/interest.
I will! He's been awesome in everything I've seen or heard him in. Literally, just the fact that he narrated Fallout and voiced Slade in the og Teen Titans is amazing. Dude is awesome.
