ENDERS GAME IS ABOUT THE BOY SUPER GENIUS THAT WORKS FOR THE SPACE MARINES RIGHT?
No clue. I was told to read it, so I shall pick it up soon.
Also kind of want to restart the Dune series. I've only read the Dune and half of Dune Messiah. I'd like to restart the Crown of Stars series too.
LOL. funny. Last night I downloaded and installed Nola's Women book he recommended... as well as "Ender's Game" and the whole Dune saga! ha. I almost feel like you are watching what I am doing online
Would you like me to send you the epub versions of these books?
Jesus Christ. You contradicted yourself so I don't even know how to respond.
Obviously there is no deeper meaning or substance in the Potter series. It is a children's fantasy series that was targeted to 10 year olds. I was never looking for anything of substance when I read the potter series. The Potter series was very successful for its target demographic (10 year olds), and I have no problems with the series for what it is. I wouldnt recommend it for adults, but I understand the appeal towards children. It obviously doesn't offer anything of substance because children would have difficultly relating to adult themes.
*sigh* Have you read it all the way through, up to book 7? There is totally a deeper meaning, but I'm not coherent enough to go into it.

Sure. Might take me a few days to remember to turn my home computer on and send it though. I think I still have your email... It'll come as a zip. Currently on my Nook Color I have the following in epub
LOTR series Hobbit Millennium Trilogy Ender's Game (and the second book released in the series forgot the name) Dune series (like 6 books)

Obviously there is no deeper meaning or substance in the Potter series.
actually, there is at least, according to the database sources and articles i cited in my paper
I could start a group whose hobby it is to find meaning in the odd shapes to bowel movements. We could take pictures and compile a whole database that made profound and insightful comments about the philosophical meaning of corn stuck in a shit that looks like mount Rushmore in December.
Just because I could produce rubbish that tries to find meaning in shit, doesn't mean that the shit in question has any meaning what-so-ever.
So no. Harry Potter is a children's book, that offers no profound outlook on life. It doesnt grapple any interesting life struggles or philosophy. Harry Potter has about as much meaning as my shit that looks like mount Rushmore in Decemeber.

And exactly like my shit, Harry Potter is predictable and has a very foul Oder for anyone over the age of 15. Simple predictable book series is simply predictable.

so now whos being ignorant
The point in my comment is very real. I agree I am coloring my words up a bit and exaggerating to prove a point, but I stand by my point.
Any book that sticks to a simple formula and is completely predictable, offers nothing profound. After the reading the second book, I knew exactly what would happen in each book as soon as they introduced the 'new' characters. The final book was the most interesting and furthest from the pattern, but I wasnt all that impressed.
It was good for a children's book. That is my story and I am sticking to it.
everyone, wake knew dobby, hedwig and others were gonna die he knew about the horcruxes and where to find them he even knew what harry and ginny were gonna names their kids! hes fucking psychic!

No. there isnt. When you have some time this summer, will you read "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress" for me? I specifically listed this book because 1. It is short and a quick read. 2. It has a fantastic story that if you are into sci-fi you will probably like (although it is space sci-fi)
And finally (and most importantly) I believe this book will illustrate to you what I mean by a book of substance. The underlying political themes in this book are impossible to ignore. However it is presented in such a way that you don't even quite realize how political it is until it stirs up your emotions.... and when you reflect on things after you finish it. The book has mad substance.

oh please 8-|
None of the things you just listed had any real world practical insight. It was a story for shits and giggle for kids, that is all. All books except the last one, started the same, ended the same, had a similar villian (IE... someone you wouldnt expect so I did expect that), had an antagonist that you were supposed to suspect but didnt because you already knew who the real bad guy was..... same same same same. It was like the same story told the same time with a different cast. BORING>
so clearly youre the one thinking youre better because of the types of books you read thinking youre superior intellect cannot handle such mediocrity get off your high horse

Jesus Christ. No, that isn't what I was saying AT ALL. If you actually read some grown up books then you might get what I was trying to say.
Harry Potter is a good series (FOR KIDS). It is a childrens book series, and if you don't agree with that then take it up with the author who would tell you she wrote it for 10 year olds.
Just as I wouldn't try and find anything profound in "Tom and Jerry", I also know there is nothing profound in Harry Potter. Does that mean I wouldnt watch Tom and Jerry? NO, Tom and Jerry is a great cartoon for KIDS that is enjoyable. If I knew another ADULT liked intellectual stimulating tv, I wouldn't say "Hey! you should watch Tom and Jerry!". I would instead say "Hey, you should watch American History X! it's a chilling and gripping story"
Do you GET IT now? Harry Potter = Tom and Jerry. I wasnt saying Harry potter is bad. I was only saying that Britt (NOT YOU) seems to like more Adult intellectual or stimulating books, so I was surprised she (BRITT - NOT YOU) was going to reread a childrens book. This had NOTHING to do with you.
