I'm halfway through Alphabet Squadron. It's probably my favorite book of the new cannon. Its set after the fall of the Empire and a group of Rebels chasing after a Tie Fighter squadron called Shadow Wing. Its reminds me of the old X Wing books.
They call them Alphabet Squadron because each pilot uses a different ship (X Wing, Y Wing, A Wing, etc) which i thought sounded fucking stupid but they kinda acknowledge how stupid it is in the book. It works.
I figured as much. Helps ya keep up the old “new Star Wars sucks, only legends is good” routine. Once you move into canon books, you may have to reevaluate some things.

I'd just rather spend the time enjoying a canon I actually like and care about, and am actually invested in. Im surr there is *some* good in the new canon books. I liked Jedi Fallen Order. But I just have no interest in getting invested in it when I know it ultimately leads to the sequel trilogy, or other shit I dont care for, and I have 30 years worth of stories I actually enjoy I can partake in instead.

Sequel Trilogy sucks but it has no impact on the new Thrawn books.

Lol I'll get to the new Thrawn books eventually, but for now I'd rather stick with the EU.
