So I'm about halfway through The Last Command right now. I'm really liking it so far (thought the palace break in part was kind of weird tbh). But one thing I wanted to mention was that I'm REALLY liking the look into the Smuggler's businesses and the formation of the Smuggler Alliance. I like hearing about the business deals, and the scheming.
It reminds me a lot of the politics going behind the scenes of the Prequel era. I actually like the politics. It's probably my favorite thing about TCW actually, how they go into Palpatine manipulating the different business clans and stuff. Same energy.
Definitely read Plageuis. Palpatine’s long con goes back much further than suspected. The canon Thrawn trilogy also has much of the same political maneuvering.

Just finished The Last Command. I really liked it, though I think it concluded a little abruptly. Still A+ trilogy for me.
Now, onto Plagueis. Might go on to the Thrawn Duology after, undecided whether I wanna do that, Outbound Flight, or X-Wing next
I realized awhile ago I spoiled part of it when asking if by prefering the legends stories over canon you wanted clones made from Luke’s cut off hand lol.

I already knew about it lol. I've read a lot of Wookiepedia lmao
It's probably the one thing I didn't really like with the trilogy. It was certainly weird, at least. That and the abrupt climax. But it didnt affect my overall enjoyment of the books. The only other part I found a little weird was the Corescant palace raid.
There are parts that feel cheesy but in a normal Star Wars way. The antagonists being called "Nihil" is a little rediculous but not enough to break immersion
It's definitely goofy at parts because of being written in the early '60s but I enjoyed the audiobook a lot. Really ahead of it's time and it's shameless how much Lucas lifted from it for Tatooine.
