Watched all of Netflix’s Catching Killers series. Then we watched ‘Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father’ and ‘The Imposter’. Tonight it will be ‘There’s Something Wrong with Aunt Diane’.
Finished My Name Is Earl. It stumbles a bit in the last season but damn what a great show for the most part. Insanely heated that it ended on an interesting cliffhanger and never got renewed due to some network greed bullshit. I usually don’t advocate for shows coming back but I will this time. Maybe not for more seasons but at least a movie to finish things up. I think that’d be perfect
It’s been three days and I’m still legit heated it got cancelled like that. I keep feeling like I need to start watching again only to remember there’s nothing left to watch
The dialogue and half-assed attempts at heartfelt moments are definitely more cringe than I remember, but on this go through I'm realizing Season 4 is the one I only watched the first and last episodes of. Definitely was the wrong season to skip initially, this cartel shit is fun as hell. Definitely makes me want to check out Mayans at some point
I liked 4 significantly better than when I first watched it. 5 surprised me as well. I always remembered Season 5 as the worst but maybe that’s because I’m still salty about that death to this day lol 6 and 7 are absolute shit shows though. It’s torture porn and then watching Jax walking around being the biggest piece of shit while sutter desperately has the side characters jumping up and down still trying to convince you he’s a good lol lame as fuck
Speaking of Mayans, I jus finished it finally bout 2 or so weeks ago. Really liked it, ended up super binging it once I hit the halfway point of season 3, shit really started picking up at that point. Overall I think it actually was prolly better than SOA, although I do have my gripes. Namely how the ending was a complete rushed copout, (Not specifically what happens to EZ, but literally everybody. Won’t spoil it since Xeno said he may watch but Dime you know.) and how EZ was made into a complete unlikable monster wit no real purpose behind it. The Walter White comparison once again comes in and at least in that case, he still never forgot about his family and legacy and what he was doing it all for, in EZ’s case he essentially becomes a ruthless serial killer for nothing. “fOr ThE ClUb” sure but idk, that shit is dicey. There was nothing redeemable about him by the end and you weren’t still rooting for him like you were for Walter.
I also didn’t like how EVERYTHING was over dramatized. For instance, Nails’ miscarriage. I rolled my eyes at that. That narratively served no purpose other than “This is a DRAMA show and nothing good whatsoever ever happens to any of these people.” But luckily shit like that wasn’t too overdone.
Emily had prolly the most satisfying ending. Still tragic, but fitting and poetic after everything she went thru.
Also, about to start The Bear, but also been watching the new season of Halo (Yea laugh it up) and the final season of Bad Batch as they air each week.
Halo is actually significantly better so far and they’re focusing more on the actual war and Covenant like the games instead of John’s wittle feewings, but I do understand that it’s prolly too little too late on that after such a bitter start lmfao.
Agree! SOA had the better overarching story but Mayans was the better show for me especially after Sutter gets fired. I actually loved the ending, my only issue was with the first 15 minutes. I won’t go into details since Xeno might watch it but message me if you wanna discuss. I literally don’t know how to tap dance around this without spoiling it as I’d be pulling shit from seasons 3 and onward for why I loved the way it ends for EZ and the club. Lot of overlooked stuff there

Overall I give it prolly a solid 8/10.
