Outside of Strapping, Death, and Pantera what did the 90s give that are better than now?
Sepultura, In Flames, Type O Negative, Fear Factory, Testament, At the Gates, Carcass, Sleep, most Florida death metal, most of the influential black metal...
To me, 90's is death metal, black metal, stoner, sludge and the beginning of funeral doom. Also, to me, the 80's is thrash, nwobhm, and glam. 90's >>>>>> 80's
sludge and doom and groove and stoner all may have came out in the 90's but now it seems there are so many bands following those genre's, so many good bands, it's bigger then it ever was back then. i mean besides the old school new orleans bands i cant think of many sludge bands back then, now its everywhere.

Sleep
Yea, I forgot Sleep and Type O Negative.
My mind always lumps the old death metal and black metal bands as 80s, I don't know why. So yea, disregard my question.
