"Slaughter of the Soul"... i dont think i saw this one; it's super cliche, but it WAS really a very influential album.
Edge of Sanity - Crimson 1 & 2
Amorphis - "Tales from the Thousand Lakes".... some ppl will tell ya this wasn't melo-death; but melodic death is definitely a big portion of the album.
In Mourning - "Shrouded Divine".... a very new band; but their debut is an instant Classic.
Unanimated - "Ancient God of Evil"..... another one of the staple Gothenburg bands; they just never "made it big"
Comments
Rise of the Tyrant - Arch Enemy
The Dethalbum II - Dethklok
And in my opinion Stormchaser - Light This City
You guys pick the album, I'm a bit biased considering they are my favorite band along with Machine Head.
eeeeeeeeh...
Dark Tranquillity, Kalmah, and Insomnium have always been at the very top for me.
NOstalgia like mad. I would get scared in that one where they were trapped by the T-rex in that canyon.

Jorm's got some high standards. I don't listen to Norther much, but I understand why people like them.
