"The Black Dahlia Murder - Entire discography."
While I like the Black Dahlia Murder, I'd say only Unhallowed and Nocturnal are essential.
I'd say Dark Tranquillity's Fiction and Gallery are very essential. Carcass' Heartwork, Insomnium's In the Halls of Awaiting and Above the Weeping World, Neara's The Rising Tide of Oblivion, Cormorant's Metazoa (homeboy, I know), Arch Enemy's Doomsday Machine. I could go on and on.

Erik, I'd like you just to spend some on music reflection. I consider much of my fun in listening to music isn't even the part where I'm listening to it. It shouldn't ever take you a day to decide how much you like an album. It should never take a month to decide whether you like a band. It shouldn't take you just a few years to decide what are the best songs you've ever heard. I consider myself a young music listener. I've only been listening intently to music since I was about ten. I started listening to metal around 13 or 14. Over that time I came to love many an album or song, but to this day I couldn't tell you which are my favorite songs, albums or bands. I apologize for this sounding condescending, it just bothers me that snap judgments are made about something like music.
