North Korea, whose lineup boasts The Dillinger Escape Plan drummer Billy Rymer, have apparently changed their name to NK. The move doesn't seem too suprising in light of recent world affairs. The band has now posted a teaser of "Kings," the first single from their forthcoming Triple Crown Records album, Nothing To Be Gained Here.
i fuckin' hate the fact that i constantly am forced to slave away for money that isn't worth the paper it's printed on just so i can have basic necessities like water, shelter and food.
Here's something that someone probably should have told you a long time ago.

You don't.
Explain then how you are supposed to live without it

I'm not trying to say that you can live without money. I'm trying to say that the way that we earn money as a society is fundamentally different from the way we want it to be. It's just easier for many people conceptually to work like that.
If it makes you unhappy, then you can do something about it. It's just not easy. Stop making money from your time. Your time can not be your only input in order to get money as your output. Educate yourself and situate yourself so that you can create or use presently existing systems that earn money for you. That's not to say that you don't have to spend time to earn money, but if you do it right (and that's not easy), you can spend nearly no time working and still earn significant income.

They're not full of shit, but have no idea what they're getting into

"This stuff is just about a bunch of nerds who never had a girlfriend their whole lives. They're like thirty now. They make up secret codes and analyze Greek mythology and make secret societies where other guys who never had girlfriends can join in. They do stupid crap like this to feel special. It's a scam. Nerds were doin' it twenty five years ago and new nerds are doing it again."
In a witty way of combining two separate topics in this thread...
it's funny. if you tell someone that you don't believe anything that politicians/gov't tell you, the reaction is usually "neither do i" or something more harsh and/or enthusiastic. but as soon as you tell someone that you think the gov't/politicians are *actively* lying, they tend to get defensive. i don't understand why. to me, it's not that big of a leap to think that the gov't lies. it's been proven time and time again. documents are released fairly consistently that have been declassified that let us know for certain that the gov't conspired to hide or carry out shit. there are entire books of declassified docs that go to great lengths to debunk ufo sightings; books that go into great detail as to how to use disinformation to make witnesses look crazy. knowing this, in addition to the things that are pretty much common knowledge like how fdr intentionally drew out the japanese to attack pearl harbor because he wanted public support to enter wwII makes me severely question anything the gov't or media have to say.
this stockholm syndrome that americans have is disturbing to me. look at what tiger has posted for example:
True. But your talking to someone who wasnt asked to go, we got told to pack our shit and get on a plane...
this is so mindless that i can barely comprehend it. it sounds like the answers they got when they asked nazi soldiers why nobody stood up and stopped cooking and gassing jews. but i'm the crazy one. okay, i can deal. it's not the first time i've been treated this way and it won't be the last. but consider that my views are not held by only me. i may be in a minority, but i'm not singular in this opinion. its frustrating to me when i see otherwise very intelligent people that never seem to question their surroundings. i get this attitude off a lot of people that kinda mirrors how ape feels: like paying attention to the lies that are constantly shoved down my throat is a frustrating exercise in futility. it is, but only because everyone else meanders through life, assuming that either a) this is as good as it gets or b) there's nothing we can do about our situation. i don't believe either. i look at it kinda like when dicaprio is talking about the slaves not revolting in 'django unchained' in that we outnumber our captors and could refuse their orders at any moment, but allow them to bully us into working for them anyways out of fear.
this plays into how i feel about north korea because i'm constantly aware of the military-industrial complex. military is big business in america, be it the halliburton people washing clothes and serving food to soldiers to the lockheed-martin guy building new planes. the more that those companies grow, the more they will need to have to do. so in order for them to grow at all, we need either a) a new war or b) a threat that keeps a cold war type of standoff so the u.s. keeps the military budget heavy. eisenhower warned of this, and we have been in a perpetual state of war ever since his administration (korea, 'nam, afghanistan, panama, iraq, plus all of our little dabbles in places like bosnia and cold wars with cuba, russia and iran). kennedy probably died over it. we seem to be departing the war end, moving towards the cold war side for now, but that beast stays hungry, so it's only a matter of time before a new war is needed to keep the river of money flowing. they seem to have tried to amalgamate syria and iran to try to create a new world war in the middle east (this would bring the added bonus of oil), but those specific countries haven't taken the bait. so north korea pops up again.
what's funny is that the idea of a war with north korea is absolutely ridiculous. china pretty much owns the united states. they could foreclose on us it they wanted to. an attack on a country that they're attached to would likely draw military action from them as well. that just doesn't seem very smart now does it? the u.s. also has to tread lightly with the northern middle east due to the close proximity to russia. i just don't see it happening. i think this is another stunt to force more military buildup that we don't need.
so...since i'm not really all that worried about real conflict with north korea, it does still bother me to see how callous and disconnected with greater humanity americans have become. i've seen tons of derp posted here and on other social outlets of the dumbass ways everyone thinks this should be handled. most of the chestbeating tends to devolve into "just bomb the shit out of the whole area". seems like a plan, eh? but it is alarming that we're getting to a point where americans are not only eschewing common sense for bravado, but the way that we've been molded into this society of me-first brats that have little connection with their fellow man. the people we would be killing most likely would have nothing to do with the conflict. they'd just be regular shmoes like us. i doubt many of you here want to be part of a war. many of them probably don't even agree with the gov't the same way we don't. for them to die over the whims of some douchebag is sad, but to see a bunch of people cheering it is even worse.
