It really was. The media were the ones pushing the hell out of it and managing to talk about it at least three times a month for an entire year. Kind of expected to to happen a little later like next week which I guess it basically will. As somebody who hasn't read the books, yeah it really was out of left field.
I remember there was a time when I first read the books I felt like a sage of some sort for putting together the R+L=J theory, fast forwards a year or two and even Buzzfeed are posting articles about it. When they map it out you realize how blatantly obvious it is
The first time I read it, it was like reading a wicked conspiracy theory where somebody thought out every little piece of information you could question and had an answer for it. It just makes so much sense. I think I got linked to it in a cracked article at the beginning of last season.
I had read plenty of warg theories leading up to this episode....but what kind of door was that? Like on one hand I am blown away by the planning that went into this event, but then on the other this dude held back an entire army of the undead on the other side of a fucking door. Bet that translates a lot better in the books that television.
There was a character named Locke on the show, but he got killed already. You gotta work with what you have.
Definitely hoping the book is clearer on what exactly happened, who warged into who and in what order and timeline. Dream Bran, awake Bran, current Hodor, young Hodor, the details were all a bit confusing how it all played out on screen.
I think this week's episode was the most satisfying in a long time. I especially liked the scene with the slavers negotiating. This season needs more Tyrion though

"I am the storm. The first and the last. And you're in my way."
Episode needed some Crow's Eye though.
