I truly believe Romney is one of the worst republican candidates ever. If you really want someone to progress on the right, Obama's track record is just about as good as Romney's. They're both pussies.
Fixing the health care system has to be modeled after something like the UK, which has free healthcare but the healthcare system still makes a shit ton off of specialized private practice. You can go to government GPs or general practitioners and get your basic medical care, which should be done for every citizen in the US anyway, and then if you get something like cancer or something you go to specialized practitioners who then ass-rape you the way they do in America. I honestly think it's somewhere around there that we'll be headed. Mandating healthcare really doesn't make the country much better.
It's better than what we had before though. Rising unemployment means a rising uncovered population, and no country can handle that.

I agree wake we need to break the for profit healthcare system. This is better than nothing imo
If this is a step towards breaking the corrupt profit healthcare system, then I will eat my words and look back on this being a really great step forward for our society and the human race. I have a bad feeling though that it will only mask the problem and eat this country to the point of complete collapse like Greece. I'd love to be wrong because I'd love to see the actual problem being resolved and everyone having access to affordable healthcare.

It's a step forward and a step back at the exact same time. It's a step forward in that everyone ahs to get health care, which means that it prioritizes people's spending, and means that since people don't want to pay the fine, they'll spend less on brand name items when they're on food stamps and get health care. Ends met, everyone has health care. However, at the exact same time, it puts us more and more on the privatized health care teat that we've been sucking on for pretty much forever. If you're Machiavellian, then this is awesome for you.
So we can stay on our parents health care till 26 :-?
BY FAR the most overlooked part of this bill. It's so important for young people to be on insurance that I think this alone makes the bill somewhat reasonable.

Indeed. I am happy about it cause I know I need it for sure.

oh come on. I agree he is awful... But I have a feeling he is a little bit less of a joke then Palin/McCain.

Agreed... This and pre-existing conditions are two great things about this bill.
