I dont know anyone who likes and buys the current Marvel lines, so thats bullshit.
I said to my friend yesterday super hero books are dead. DC cant write a story that doesnt include: A. Batman or Harley Quinn, B. making Superman the villain, or C. retells Flashpoint to some capacity, and Marvel cant tell a story unless they are changing the identity of a legacy character. They change a character a week now. I dont even know who is who anymore. Spiderman, and like Blackwidow are the only ones unnaffected right now. They even changed Hawkeye, and added a third Captain America.
I figured you would've liked the part where Dixon was talking about how they should make new characters instead of changing the old ones
Thats something Ive been saying the whole time. Like if it fits the story, or is done well, Im cool with some change. A character dies, or becomes old and passes it on, has a sidekick that eventually takes the mantle, and its done really well. Danny Ketch, and Miles Morales for example, or even when Dick was Batman for a while, sure. Im even ok with Bucky or Sam (though I liked Sam had his own idenity as Falcon) taking over as Cap, cuz at least they're related, and at the time Cap was old or dead.
But when you change every character with an unrelated new character just to change the identity of the character, it loses its value. And creating multiple versions of the same hero that coexist is lazy too, unless its like an organization like Green Lantern, or it fits the lore like Ghost Rider.
