I really like the current TMNT (comic) origins for the characters.
Yoshi and Saki were both clan (Foot Clan) brothers in Japan. Saki became the clan leader, and Yoshi didn't like the new violent way that Saki was leading the clan, so he left. Saki was mad and killed Tang Chen (who was married to Yoshi). Yoshi fled with his four sons. Saki found them, and executed all five of them. Years later, Yoshi was reincarnated into Splinter, and the sons into the four turtles. Shredder was reborn through cooperation with a Japanese goddess.
Current show one is similar to the original. But they modernized it, and mutated Yoshi instead of killing him, and making his rat Splinter.
Original TMNT is a Daredevil parody too. Strangely turned out darker. The accident that mutates the animals is the same on where Daredevil gets his powers. Splinter = Stick. The Foot = The Hand. Etc.
It's annoying to me to see characters like the Ninja Turtles who are so fun and have so much potential that just can not get a break when it comes to how they're treated in tv and movies. Punisher and Hulk are other examples. It's like whoever gets the rights to them thinks of them as these Z-Grade pulp heroes that don't deserve to be treated with intelligence. The only Ninja Turtles show or movie I've ever felt 100% respected and "got" the characters was the TMNT animated movie that came out a few years back. That shit was awesome. The early 90s show was aight and the current Nickelodeon show is surprisingly good, but both still have lapses where they border on self parody.
On a seperate note, absolutely loving the new Moon Knight series. The art is gorgeous. Plus, Plague Doctor Moon Knight \m/
Just a few months ago I was bitching about characters like Punisher, Moon Knight, and Ghostrider not having ongoings. Its like Marvel reads this thread.
Trailer for the new Constantine tv show. Looks pretty good. Tbh I'm really only looking forward to the Daredevil and Iron Fist shows on Netflix. Everything else is just a bonus.

yeah, i always loved that little crossover between Daredevil and TMNT. Shit like that wouldnt fly these days. Marvel would sue them into oblivion.
