I assume he wanted to group people in by some financial group without making people feel uneasy about asking how much they make, however the way the question was worded it provides no useful information. That is all I am saying. Besides the fact that of relative earnings based on where you live (ie... 100k in NYC is not compatible to 100k in hickville bamma.) what one might say for themselves is not necessarily what others would consider. I've been told by countless people that they consider my wage as being "upper class", where I'd consider myself probably pretty "middle class". basically...

How wealthy is wealthy?
Exactly. meaningless question is meaningless. Here's a common wage separation ive seen.
below 35k - Lower Class 35k-100k - Middle Class over 100k - Upper Class.
Anyone disagree with this? And these totals are based on an average cost of living. Ie... if you make 100k and live in NYC, you are not even close to upper class

Getting closer if we are just talking direct salary. Im not saying anything more though. This last year was an unusual year for me though because I had to sell some stocks, and sold a house, so my adjusted gross income was like 100k more then it normally is.
But due to having 45k in schedule A deductions I was able to get my adjusted gross income out of that 35% tax bracket.... My effective tax rate this year was 14% booyeah.

Not even in the ball park.
If you live in NY,.... then yooze broke. How much is monthly rent or mortgage in that city? Shit you pay more for parking than I do for my montly mortgage and car payment combined.
I don't even think minimum wage exists in NYC cuz everyone would be flat broke. They prolly pay $17 an hour just to flip burges at McDonalds.
I live in Rochester NY which has very cheap affordable housing. I paid 300k for my current house:
3500 sq feet, 5 bedroom + office + formal living and dining + pool etc. It's a nice place.
its a fucking high school survey how about you stop overanalyzing something for once and just take it for what it is answer the fucking question as best as you can and move on
