Consider todays times.... Say the federal government gives most of its power to the states. Think of the United States more like how you think of Europe (ie... not one big unit but a collection of little countries).
Can you really imagine Idaho deciding that they want more land so they invade Montana? That is absurd. We no longer live in that world, where power is gained by how large your country is. We live in the world where power is gained by making other countries financially dependent on you.
Besides.... Im not saying do away with the feds completely. They are there to protect another states sovereign rights. If Idaho decides to invade Montana, then it has the other 48 states to answer too.

If you push me hard enough I'll just say we'd be better off with no government. Let the people regulate themselves and allow society to deal with those that want to harm society.
no, i see your point. i just disagree. i feel like putting more shit on state's shoulders will facilitate the failure of a bunch of states. it will also increase the crackpot factor. utah would probably be uninhabitable by a lot of people who have been protected from the whims of the local religious authority because of federal intervention. without that, you're pretty much being like "well, find somewhere else to live".

I agree completely, however instead of saying "the ideals of liberty are timeless" I'd rather it be phrased "The right of self-ownership is unalienable" because that is the main principle that defines the whole philosophy of liberty.

This is a very important video that I think simplifies what our founding fathers intended to implement in this country. It is probably one of the most politically important videos you will ever see.
