They're treated better and more appreciated overseas, I don't blame em. I wouldn't want to be treated like shit either
If they want to get their music out, they need to get on a tour with a bigger club band and put in the work. Like Slap said, it's never easy. You have to earn what you get.
MetalSerbia.com conducted an interview with drummer Gus Rios of Florida death metal veterans MALEVOLENT CREATION prior to the band's February 28 concert at Gun Klub in Belgrade, Serbia as part of the "Sounds Of Extreme Tour" tour with KRISIUN and VITAL REMAINS. You can now watch the chat below.
When asked how he would describe touring conditions in Europe compared to those in the U.S., Rios said, "We have officially stopped touring the U.S. We hate it. We will only tour Europe, South America — basically, anywhere but the U.S. U.S. sucks. Not the country, but the conditions of touring in the U.S. are nowhere near as good as the conditions in Europe. Less fans, less support, clubs are not great. I imagine SLAYER tours [in the U.S.] are great, because they're playing big places and they're staying in nice hotels, etc., but death metal in the United States is much less popular than it is in Europe. It's tough to come to Europe and get treated like an artist and be respected and then go back to your own country and you get kind of treated like shit."
Translation: We aren't as successful as some of our Floridian counterparts and refuse to accept it

Violence and panic erupted outside of the Clubhouse Music Venue in Tempe last night as a fight between concertgoers at the Nipsey Hussle show escalated into a shooting that wounded 13 people.
According to multiple messages on Twitter and statements from Tempe Police Department officials to the media, the shooting took place on Friday evening before midnight in the parking lot outside of the music venue during the hip-hop show.
Two of the 13 people injured from gunfire were transported to nearby hospitals in serious condition.
Per Tempe PD's Sergeant Steve Carbajal, two unidentified African-American men who fled the scene are being sought as suspects.
Sadly, this isn't the first time a violent situation has taken place outside the Clubhouse Music Venue as a stabbing occurred in the parking lot in 2009.
Twitter exploded with tweets regarding the shooting incident, including a message from local hip-hop fan Edgar Campos who tweeted about the chaos that resulted from the gunfire. "Guess he [Nipsey Hussle] ain't coming back to az no more but what had me tripping was there was so many heels on the pavement and sidewalk tho."
In the wake of the shooting, Hussle never appeared on stage for his headlining performance and instead tweeted the following: "AZ....y'all gotta be cool man. This shit ain't rite."
Well, this is a bummer. Over the weekend, founding guitarist Michael Keene announced that Steve Jones, the other guitarist in the band, has officially left The Faceless, tweeting: "Farewell Steve Jones. We had a long ride my brother. Welcome the amazing @WesHauch to The Faceless. He is a shredder."
Swedish/German extreme metallers ARCH ENEMY have amicably parted ways with guitarist Christopher Amott and have replaced him with 26-year-old American musician Nick Cordle (ARSIS).
Christopher — the brother of ARCH ENEMY's other guitarist Michael Amott — was a member of ARCH ENEMY from 1996 to 2005 and again from 2007 to 2011.
Commented ARCH ENEMY in a statement: "We thank Christopher for the time he's worked with the band and, of course, wish him the very best in his future endeavors. Thankfully, there is no drama behind the scenes here. This is the best way forward for all involved. Christopher simply isn't into playing extreme metal anymore. We have already chosen and rehearsed with a new guitar player and we will complete the 'Khaos Legions' 2012 touring cycle as planned. We are highly motivated and look forward to continue spreading our music around the world! Finally, our deepest thanks go to the ARCH ENEMY fans, whose amazing support and belief inspires us ever onward."
Added Michael Amott: "Nick was my first choice as he ticks all the right boxes for ARCH ENEMY with his musicality and technicality as well as his personality and dedication. [We are] looking forward to having him join us stage, the rehearsals have shown we have a devastating twin axe attack going on!"
Anyone remember the band Mest? They were that pop punk band with that song "Cadillac", well apparently they're back, only now they sound totally different almost post-hardcore sound.
