Brendon Small is the co-creator/ writer/ actor/ director/ producer/ of Adult Swim's Metalocalypse television series. Brendon Small is also responsible for writing and performing all of the show's music and Dethklok: The Dethalbum and Deathalbum II, the latter now known as the fastest-selling death metal album to date.
Now, Brendon has written and produced Brendon Small's Galaktikon: "A High Stakes Intergalactic Extreme Rock album," his long-awaited side project set to release in April 2012. The album release will coincide with the Season 4 premiere of Metalocalypse.
Coming off of the second Dethklok album which was heavier and darker than the first, Brendon Small's Galaktikon searches for melody (in the vocal) and finds inspirations in modern black metal, Queen, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer. No influence is unwelcome on this project. Brendon Small paired with Dethklok drummer (legendary metal drummer) Gene Hoglan (Dethklok, Strapping Young Lad, Testament, Fear Factory) and Dethklok bassist Bryan Beller (Dethklok, Steve Vai, Mike Keneally band) and Dethklok engineer and mixer Ulrich Wild.
"This album should be thought of as an audio comic book, an over acted chamber drama, a ridiculous premise that takes itself way too seriously all the way to the end," states Brendon Small.
Brendon Small's Galaktikon comes as a follow up to Brendon's work on the chart-topping Dethklok albums based on Metalocalypse and released by Williams Street Records. Dethklok: The Dethalbum debuted at #21 on the Billboard Top 200 with over 30,000 copies sold in the first week and held the "fastest-selling death metal album to date" position originally until the follow-up, Dethalbum II, surpassed it to break the aforementioned record with a #15 debut on the Billboard Top 200. Dethklok has performed on several US tours and headlined the Los Angeles kick-off date of the 2011 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
That’s it. Dave Mustaine is officially a full-fledged bigot. I give up trying to rationalize it, and I hereby pledge to stop supporting the music of this intolerant, fuck-face asshole. The latest: Mustaine can now add “racist” and “sexist” to an already impressive resumé that includes the honorable title of “homophobe,” all in the name of God.
His latest facepalm moment: in an interview with L.A. Weekly, completely apropo of nothing whatsoever, Mustaine said the following:
There’s so many houses without a dad that it’s just terrible. I mean, you know how they used to say there should be a license to have a baby? Well, as far-fetched as that sounds, I really think that, if the parents aren’t going to stick together, they shouldn’t make that kind of commitment to life. I watch some of these shows from over in Africa, and you’ve got starving women with six kids. Well, how about, you know, put a plug in it? It’s like, you shouldn’t be having children if you can’t feed them.
Here’s the thing. In the abstract, Dave is not wrong; people who don’t have the economic means to make children comfortable should not be having lots of babies. But to pick out Africans is incredibly racist (poor, white families right here in America are having way too many kids also), and to pick out women is incredibly sexist (it takes two to tango). It also completely fails to recognize the outside factors that lead to these “starving African women” ending up where they are, such as incredibly oppressive governments, low education, and no access to birth control, just to name a few.
Mustaine just keeps driving so far over the whackadoo cliff that I’m starting to wonder if his handlers are actually encouraging him to keep spouting all this crazy nonsense because of all the publicity it’s generating. When’s the last time a publication as widespread as Gawker devoted regular coverage to Megadeth? If Mustaine keeps this shit up he’s gonna be regular fodder for TMZ and Perez Hilton in no time.
The sad thing here is that it’s actually Mustaine who’s woefully uneducated, living in his own little isolated world of privilege. Dave Mustaine, you are a racist, homophobic, sexist, and delusional prick. Fuck you.

I personally don't see the huge issue with this one. It's just salty worded logic.
Many many women are raped in the poorest regions of Africa, and without any contraception available, there is a large quantity of births due to rape. Putting a plug in it, as he suggests, is very insensitive.
I still don't really care about what he said. He's not running for president, he's in a fucking Heavy Metal band named Megadeth and has killed a shitload of brain cells over the years. He's supposed to be insensitive.
King’s X drummer Jerry Gaskill suffered a heart attack Saturday night (Feb. 25). Fortunately, the group reports that he is in stable condition following surgery at an unknown hospital.
Gaskill’s bandmate, bassist Doug “Dug” Pinnick reported the news on his Facebook page Sunday afternoon: “Jerry had a heart attack last night. He was operated on and is in stable condition at the hospital. We’re all waiting for more info. I will keep you posted.”
Early this morning (Feb. 27), it appears Gaskill is recovering well based on another Pinnick post that revealed his bandmate “woke up pulling cords out” and feeling “feisty.”
Gaskill, Pinnick and guitarist Ty Tabor have been performing together for over 30 years in King’s X. The group has released 12 studio albums, the most recent being 2008′s ‘XV.’ The band has a spring U.S. tour scheduled to kick off on March 28 in Austin, Texas. It is unknown if those plans will be changed by Gaskill’s recovery, which we hope is speedy and complete.
Fans can send their support to Gaskill via his official Facebook page. A note posted there yesterday reads,” On behalf of Jerry and his family…Thank you for the get well wishes and prayers.”
" While nobody can officially announce that Motorhead is going to be on this summer's Rockstar Mayhem Festival, due to Motorhead's current touring commitments with Gigantour, that isn't stopping Lemmy from talking about it. The Motorhead frontman confirmed in a recent interview that the band will be one of the main stage headliner's of this Summer's largest traveling festival. So that locks in the lineup as: Slayer, Slipknot, Motorhead on the main stage, and Anthrax, As I Lay Dying, The Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria, Whitechapel, High on Fire on the second stages. As usual, Mayhem provides a diverse lineup for fans of many different subgenres of metal."
