Rise To Remain loses members, cancels tour

    Official press release:

It is with regret that Rise To Remain announces that they have parted company with their bass player Joe Copcutt and drummer Pat Lundy on the eve of their first American tour. As a result, they will no longer be able to take part in the shows as planned supporting Machine Head. The band apologizes to all their US fans but would like to assure them that they will be playing shows there very soon.

The US release of their critically acclaimed debut album City Of Vultures via Century Media Records now moves to June 5th, when Rise To Remain will be heading to American shores for an extensive soon-to-be-announced tour. The American album release will also feature exclusive new material recorded in the coming months.

Rise To Remain will head back out on the road in the UK and Europe as previously announced in March on their headlining tour with German metallers Heaven Shall Burn in support.

New members will be announced in due course. In the meantime, Rise To Remain would like to thank Joe and Pat for their contribution to the band's success and wish them well with all their plans for the future.

Blockbuster tour alert! Well, if all those rumors about Motley Crue breaking up after their Las Vegas residency were getting you down, here’s a new rumor to cheer you up! The rock site BraveWords has it on good authority that Motley Crue and KISS are gearing up to join forces for a mega fall 2012 tour run.

The alleged tour would feature Motley Crue in the support role with KISS headlining behind their upcoming ‘Monster’ album.

As KISS prepare to release ‘Monster,’ Motley Crue are taking up shop at The Joint in Las Vegas for their unprecedented residency in February. You can read all about it here in our exclusive interview with Crue’s madman behind the kit, Tommy Lee.

The combined forces of two of rock’s most theatrical live shows could prove too much for one stage, so please be forwarned that as of this moment, this is strictly a rumor!

As soon as the details are confirmed or denied, we’ll report. Although, here’s some food for thought: Nikki Sixx DID say that the Vegas residency would launch the biggest years of the band’s career.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Accepting Submissions For Vacant Lead Singer Position - Jan. 9, 2012

Massachusetts metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have released the following statement:

"We've been getting a lot of inquiries about the [vacant KILLSWITCH ENGAGE] singer position. If you are interested, please send an MP3 or a song link, a photo and a brief description of yourself to the management email address provided in the contact section of KillswitchEngage.com."

Former KILLSWITCH ENGAGE frontman Howard Jones issued a statement regarding his departure from the group, which was announced last week. Jones wrote in part, "I've had a pretty interesting couple of years, to say the least, battling with some personal issues. One of the low points being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes that went unchecked for years. The rest of the band stuck with me through it, and, to be honest, they are the ones that kept me going. The whole experience definitely put a scare in me."

He continued, "Recently we've all been in writing mode, but somehow I couldn't get excited about the new album and all the touring that would go with it. The guys saw it before I did. In hindsight, I now realize that my heart wasn't in it."

Jones thanked the rest of the band for "an amazing decade," adding, "I have so many good memories, and those are the ones that I will keep."

The band said in its statement last week, "We love Howard and are thankful for the nine years that we've had him in the band. Out of respect for everyone involved we will not be discussing the specific reasons behind this decision. Howard is a part of our family and always will be, and we wish him well."

No replacement has been found yet for the 41-year-old Jones, who joined KILLSWITCH in 2002 after the departure of original vocalist Jesse Leach. Jones sang on the band's last three studio efforts, including 2009's self-titled set.

Epitaph Records is proud to announce the signing of Los Angeles based heavy melodic hardcore band The Ghost Inside. Formed in 2007, the band has built a following with two previous records, Fury And The Fallen Ones and Returners, as well as their riveting live performances touring with bands such as Bring Me The Horizon, Parkway Drive and The Devil Wears Prada.
The Ghost Inside’s powerful and affecting sound merges insightful and introspective lyrics with charging drums, lightning fast riffs and devastating breakdowns. The group is currently working on their yet untitled Epitaph debut with Jeremy Mckinnon (of A Day To Remember) producing.
“Signing to Epitaph is a dream come true for me,” singer Jonathan Vigil says. “The label is home to some of my all time favorite bands. Epitaph continues to be successful while maintaining the integrity of an independent label. I really look forward to the future of The Ghost Inside and Epitaph. There’s honestly no other place I’d want to call home. “
The Ghost Inside will be taking their energetic live show on the road when they tour North America.”

Born Of Osiris said their guitarist had left the band. And he came back with this
Just to clarify to everyone I did NOT quit Born of Osiris, I would have never been able to bring myself to do such a thing no matter how much tension was between us. All of those dudes were essentially my family, I lived in the same house as them for over 2 years. This was by no means at all my decision(not that I was involved in the decision in any way shape or form lol). I have been fired from the band because I, "don't agree with the way they want to live their lives" and "it felt like their dad was in the band." So instead of confronting me about my eeeendless bitching about their excessive drinking and assorted drug abuse they decided that calling me at 130 in the morning 4 days before christmas while I'm home visiting family to tell me that all of my belongings from the new BOO house were in my trailer on the way to me in VA was the professional way to handle it. So i can say with pride that I will NEVER play another note on stage with the group of cowards that is Born of Osiris. I don't give a fuck what they think of me for putting their personal stuff out there, I want everyone to see them for who they really are. Im just happy the truth finally came out and now I know what truly matters to them and it is NOT putting out albums like The Discovery. On another note I will continuing the rest of my musical endeavors with Chelsea Grin, as we are already really great friends and with the recent loss of their guitar player we were able to make the best out of two very shitty situations. I will be involved with the writing process of their next release which is supposed to be dropped before warped tour this summer. You guys heard how much a higher place sucked and what came after it, so get ready for some of the sickest CG you've ever heard!!! :D
