That doesn't make your case. Do you realize how great of a producer Rick Rubin is? I have mad mad mad respect for Rubin. The fucker knows music and how to produce it. A billion times more then anyone else on this board. I'm not saying Cash isnt a great artist, but Rubin makes even shitty artist like like genius.
so apparently if rick rubin produces your music He is now the genius? you obviously havent listened to the american recordings tracks because you would realize most songs are acoustic covers of other artists. now you could use that as an excuse against cash, that most songs werent his. but he just took songs to a whole nuther level than the original artist to where goosebumps stand up on your neck. ive never felt music they way i do with cash, just think of the first times you heard hurt, it was probably the only time i cried to a song in my life

i love rick rubin, but my love for johnny doesnt completely revolve around rubin. i appreciate what rubin did tho with johnny and american recordings, what came out of that duo was magical
and i dont vote on who is the better artist, i vote on if i could only listen to one band who would it be, and without a shadow of a doubt it would be johnny

No I have heard it, and it is a fantastic album. And Cash is a fantastic artist.... He is no Led Zeppelin though.

Slayer and Slipknot both did albums with Rubin.
EXACTLY. And just imagine how awful they would be without his work, because really both are pretty shitty bands. Even Metallica has worked with Rick. Death Magnetic - Rick; St. Anger - Not Rick.
