My friend played the Final Cut for me because my opinion was already not very high, but I had not really given it much of a chance.
That album sucks. I enjoyed it less this time around. My first thought was that it was just songs that didn't make it onto The Wall, and I guess that is correct. It was mostly Roger attempting dramatic, opera style chord progressions with lyrics about how his dad was dead, and too much orchestration.
Did you ever get "Pro's and Con's of Hitchhiking"?
I listened, and I only like a few songs the first time around... I only listened to it a few times. I know it may take some time to sink in, so I wont pass judgement yet... I will say, Waters and Gilmour together make eachother better!

Did you by chance catch the couple things I called out? Specifically the end to the second to last song and the start of the last song? I really love that part. Just how he went through this incredible journey, and it wasnt for nothing because he has this moment of clarity where everything makes 100% sense and he has the solution to everything - and then it's gone. :-)) I love it!
but yeah, like I said, it is an onion. you'll be picking out new things from that story for years to come.
You know what else I like... is the background stuff. Like in the second to last song when you hear
Both times I listened, I was half ass busy and not paying attention really and just had it in the backround while I was doing shit... But when I have a chance I will sit down and give it a good listen with no distractions... Then I will be able to better review it!

oh yeah... I do that sometimes. I find it funny when I put on a album and then start jamming to a song and getting into it, and look up and it is the last song on the album and Im like "why you no play rest of album music player?"

nothing any band will ever do will compare to the shit Pantera did. That shit will never happen again. we are too lawsuit happy to allow that shit again.
just out of curiosity, have you ever listend to THrowdown, they really remind me of Pantera, especially their last 2 albums... they evolved into a killer groove metal band...
yeah, back then they played more like hardcore and shit, but the past few albums have been killer groove metal, you can definately hear the pantera influence bigtime in their songs, liketne to their newest album, i live that shit.
