the future of this country is socialism. the free market is crumbling and our economy is breaking under the weight of corporate greed

I think you missed a dose again, Shaner.

Meh, I wonder why people like Obama, but then again this board seems to be filled with people who think communism and socialism are correct.
    **facepalm**
Not facepalm worthy, at all in any way.

Spoken like a "have not". The gap should be as wide as the Grand Canyon if they went out and earned the loot.

these people want to give millionaires and billionaires massive tax breaks instead of helping the millions who can barley afford to feed themselves. the measure of a country is in how it treats its poorest citizens and as far as world powers go we are the worst.

Let's put the tax breaks into perspective shall we? Those breaks cover 1% of the population but attract 100% of the bitching. Obama is going to provide for those who aren't willing and/or able to do so for themselves. That top 1% of tax payers play a very vital role in this nation's economy. Tax them more and they hire fewer people. Give them a break or incentive and they hire more people. Don't worry, Shane, our bracket will still get the tax breaks. I don't hate someone because they were more successful than me. I don't understand why you do.

We give them tax breaks so they can use that money to expand their business. It gives them motivation to work. Obama's whole platform is not what this country was built on and I think the foundin fathers would be ashamed to see what he's pushing us towards

Also those tax breaks create more jobs

doesn't change the fact this countery treats its poor like shit and caters to the super rich

take 24% of the salary of someone who makes 12,000 a year. it drastically affects their life in every way. now in perspective take 24% of someone who makes 12,000,000 a year. sure they might not be able to buy their 4th beach house in the Mediterranean and can't afford their 3rd Lambo but every luxury of life is still available to them. the super rich can afford the taxes.

what you are talking about is trickle down economics which doesn't work.

and yes i know they get taxes higher than 24% it was just a comparison
  • Razor_SharkRazor_Shark Posts: 12,604 balls deep
If everyone had the same percentage then taxes would make more sense to me.

Why should the US reward someone for being a lazy bastard and penalize those who have earned more than we do? Makes no sense. If a person is tired of being poor then they should work harder to better themselves and not expect a handout from Fedzilla. Those programs are why America's economy is going down the shitter. You want welfare? Sterilize your ass and stop making more kids when you can't afford the ones you have. You can't buy food? Stay out of the liquor stores and casinos. Unemployment ran out? Get a fucking job. They are out there. I have two and I also do taxes. America is lazy.

It's hard to get a good job. A good job usually requires college, which some people simply can't afford. Also, it truly is hard to find a job in some parts of the country. Sure, there are a good amount of people that are just too lazy to get jobs, but they are outweighed by the people who are trying to find one.
