Massachusetts rockers STAIND have set "Seven" as the title of their recently completed new album, due later in the year via Atlantic Records.
Speaking to the Grand Rapids, Michigan radio station WGRD 97.9 FM at this past weekend's Rock On The Range festival in Ohio (see video below), STAIND guitarist Mike Mushok stated about the new CD, "It's completely different than the last record [2008's 'The Illusion Of Progress']. It's more of a throwback to where we came from. You know, 'Dysfunction' [1999], 'Tormented' [1996] albums . . . [But] I don't think there's any rehashed riffs; I definitely think it's fresh. It's a modern-sounding version of a heavy STAIND record. It's pretty cool."
"Former Dimmu Borgir bassist/clean vocalist ICS Vortex has revealed that he has signed to Century Media and will release the debut album from his latest project on August 22nd. It shall be called ‘Storm Seeker’. The album is said to take “the musical elements from his 10-plus years of experience with Dimmu Borgir as well as the legacy of the classic bands with whom he is still active (Borknagar, Arcturus and Lamented Souls), topping things off with his signature clean vocals in order to make ‘Storm Seeker’ become a perfectly balanced axe, whether a song is cutting fast, or dicing slow.”
Holy fuck that new Trivium is the sickest shit ever.\m/
Inorite? I freaking love the clean vocals part
Song is so sick. I don't know why people are saying it's so different, that chorus and melodic riff sound just like Shogun Trivium, the only thing that's new is the main chug/groove riff, which they usually don't do.

That's why I'm hopeful the rest of the album isn't like that. That chug riff makes them sound, for lack of a better word, generic. The whole song is lacking in the riffs that I'm used to from them.

Yeah that's what got to me, I don't get why people say it's so different. I thought it was different but could fit on shogun as well. Maybe it's more Ember to Inferno or Ascendancy material but it could have fit into Shogun
