Ok, they use minute long samples of rain falling while no instruments are playing, that doesn't make them ambient or something I guess?

To which track are you referring? Agalloch love ambient samples, as do many other acts, but they don't try to be an ambient band.

In my opinion, until any other band creates a song this good, I'll call Agalloch the greatest metal band in the game.
