2012 was a year of guts and glory for the rotters in Exhumed. Thanks to all the ragers, earth dogs, hessian aggressors, crusties, bandana thrashers, grind maniacs, necromaniacs and other humanoids that made it out to one of our 155 shows in 16 countries during 2012. We got to welcome back the inimitable Bud Burke on lead guitar, and found time to record a new record for you guys for 2013, "Necrocracy." If somehow you didn't get out to bang, barf and blast with us last year, we are already planning a bunch of madness for 2013, so save your strength for the day we come to your city! See you in the front or in the morgue - cheerzzzzzz....
Swedish death metallers AMON AMARTH have officially entered the studio to begin recording their new album for a tentative June release via Metal Blade Records. The CD is being helmed by British producer Andy Sneap, who has previously worked with (MEGADETH, EXODUS, MACHINE HEAD, ARCH ENEMY and ACCEPT.
Massachusetts metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE — singer Jesse Leach, guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, bassist Mike D'Antonio, guitarist Joel Stroetzel and drummer Justin Foley — have set "Disarm The Descent" as the title of their upcoming sixth album. The 12-track record is due out April 2 on Roadrunner and is the follow-up to 2009's self-titled release. "Disarm The Descent" is the band's first album with original singer Leach at the vocal helm since 2002's now-classic, genre-defining "Alive or Just Breathing". Leach returned to the band in January 2012 after a decade-long absence.
The first single, "In Due Time", will be made available digitally on February 5. Album pre-orders will kick off in early February, as well, with more details forthcoming.

The Black Dahlia Murder Are Back in the Studio! Monday, January 7th, 2013 at 3:30PM By Vince Neilstein
The Black Dahlia Murder are total pro workhorses: they’ve released a new album almost exactly every two years going all the way back to their very first release in 2003. That’s really impressive given their busy touring schedule, and even moreso given the fact that they’ve been especially prone to member swaps. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the definition of what it’s like to be a working metal band in the new era. No rest for the wicked.
And they’re showing no signs of letting up their relentless pace of record, tour, repeat: Metal Injection has confirmed that The Black Dahlia Murder just began tracking their next album with Eyal Levi at Audiohammer Studios in Florida. Levi posted the below photos on his Facebook page with the captions “Black Dahlia day one” and “Black Dahlia day two,” respectively:
Assuming tracking will be finished this month it’s totally reasonable to expect this album to be out by June, meaning TBDM’s two-year pace will be kept perfectly intact. Also: new Black Dahlia music! Get excitebike.
No word yet on who the band has tapped to replace recently departed drummer Shannon Lucas, although ex-Abigail Williams drummer Alan Cassidy — who toured with the band this past summer — remains a likely candidate.
"We have some big announcements coming next week concerning our new album - which is a few songs away from being written. We plan on Recording in March or April and have a new album out in the Summer. We have been recording pre production with our old friends Cam and Anthony. The material is more challenging than ever before and we know we'll have to work hard to bring it to life. Looking very forward to a bold 2013! Stay tuned."
