This is how people figure out what kind of qualities they want in a lifelong partner, trial and error. Both sexes have hookups even when single. Because anything you could possibly fail at is pointless and sex should only be used as a means to reproduce. Nothing else. In the past, people were widowed alot earlier in life. But now, people are living so long that they are getting divorced now because their spouse wont die.
