Cincinnati's Butch Jones has declined an offer to become the new coach at Colorado, sources close to the coach told ESPN Thursday.
The Denver Post reported Wednesday that Jones had accepted Colorado's offer. However, Jones said that report was "false" in a text to ESPN.
Jones had a five-year, $13.5 million offer from Colorado, the Post reported. On Monday, Jones interviewed with Colorado after earlier interviewing at Purdue. On Tuesday and Wednesday, Jones participated in bowl news conferences, promoting the Bearcats' Belk Bowl berth, in Cincinnati and Charlotte.
I never have been into college too many moving parts I don't like that its different players every year and so on too much to keep up with. Also the bcs is a joke

That was more referring to how you wrote the sentence, not the reasons why
They wont get into one of the bigger conferences with this realignment going on. The football stadium though awesome doesn't sell out. The basketball arena doesn't sell out. It comes down to them not making enough money or being a big enough draw for someone else to let them join. Its crazy too because both the football and basketball teams especially over the last 6-7 years are consistently in the top 25 at points throughout the season. They aren't terrible teams and bring the competition to the table just not the money. UC ranked 69-70 on the amount of money the football teams bring in. Cincy is a small market and that makes it even more tough on a place like UC when you have other pro teams in town competing for the same fans. Its sad but true (don don dondondon don).
Im not mad at coaches for leaving don't mistake that do what makes you happy in life. What I have a problem with is contracts that mean nothing seemingly in every sport especially to owners. And its the worst in college a coach can just up and leave regardless of how many years are on that contract. They need to either eliminate contracts or change the rules on that stuff because its meaningless.
