Some lady on FB asked if there "was any interest in some old albums?" and my wife shot her a message asking about a few of them. It was a pretty decent list... Hendrix, Joplin, Skynard, Dire Straits, Van Halen etc. Easily 15-20 I would be interested in... and a few that the wife showed some interest in. The lady selling them didn't respond before I went to work. A little while later Wifey calls me..
I was at a thrift store one time buying some vinyl and the lady behind me in line asked if I would be interested in her father’s vinyl. Said he had passed away and she didn’t know what to do with it. I said sure and got her number, and ended up buying all of it for $100. A lot of it was crap, but there was a lot of old Elvis records in it. I sold them on eBay and made $400. I still have some of it
My ex gfs dad used to have a trash hauling business and he would bring home crates and crates of vinyl that people would want thrown away. I still have a bunch of 80s rock albums he gave me from those hauls
Got the receiver hooked up, hooked up some bookshelf speakers and plugged in an aux cord to give it a go. Even with the smaller speakers it was more than loud enough at 3 or 4. It pushes the hell out of those little speakers. Can't wait to upgrade them still.
Hooked up the turntable, plugged it in... and the power switch is seized up. Gonna have to give it some maintenance it seems.
