Halloween looks good. The lore and story of that franchise is so fucked up, I really dont care if they are retconning the whole thing as long as there's copious amounts of blood and fun kills
Just saw 'Hereditary' for the second time. I honestly can't remember feeling so unnerving during a psychological/horror film, especially modern day. It keeps getting compared to The Witch, It Follows etc, but i think it's better than both.
Just saw it with the gf and damn that movie was pretty good. It's a super slow burn movie but it does it right. Doesnt have any jump scares at all but the scares are there. It is pretty fucked up movie and the acting is really well done.
Without any spoilers, what makes it so scary? Everyone has been hyping it up on social media
Its not even that its scary, at least not in your typical horror way. There's a sense of dread over the entire film that never lets up. There's one small thing I wish were different, but its not big enough to really matter. The acting is believable, and you actually feel drawn in/connected to the characters. Whereas most modern horror you're just looking for them to get it. The ending is fairly sudden, but you'll be saying "What the fuck just happened...." When credits roll.
Ive heard The Witch was awful. I hated The Babdook. Havent seen It Follows. Im usually not into pretensious art horror. But Hereditary seems interesting.

It just seems like no matter what's being discussed, if something isn't straight blood and guts it's pretentious to you.
