I fucking hate movie studios. Fox commented on the success of Deadpool, and the PR guy said "kudos to the Fox CEO for having the courage to let this movie get made."
Ryan Reynolds said they have been campaigning for this movie for 10 years, and have had most of the script written for at least 6 years. So the fans AND the crew both pressure you for a decade to make a movie and when you finally do, you're a genius? And the worst part is, they'll never learn their lesson. They dont figure out "hey, give the fans what they want, let the creative talent do what they want, and it'll do well"
They get some stupid bullshit out of it like "hey, R rated action flicks make money! Better release a ton of those for the next few years!"
They're already talking about basically all future Xmen movies might be R rated.
Its like Gunn said, they took the wrong things away from Deadpool's success. People want to see movies accurately portray beloved characters, anf have comic book vibes. Doesnt matter if its R or not, as long as it fits the characters.
