StarWars books? I read a few of the comics, and a few of the Jedi Apprentice stories. I know the general story of a lot of what happened in the expanded universe though. Which ones are you talking about?
I have to see it before I make a comment but I hate when franchises separate themselves too much from why I love the original shit. GI joe and ninja turtles took it completely different and those were the lamest things ever lol
Yea, I'm gonna really wait to judge until I see it. But the amount of nostalgia porn in the trailers alone displeases me.
"Oh, you like Han and Chewie? Well here's Han and Chewie". "oh, you like TIE Fighters and X-Wings? We have those too, instead of creating our own original new fighters". "You like storm troopers and the Emprie? Well thats the villain again, instead of someone new". "The expanded universe? Fuck that, that's for nerds, the majority of people only like the orig trig".
The movie is in such demand, the theater I'm at right now decided to open addition auditoriums to accommodate the crowds at last minute. This is crazy. I've never seen anything like this.
I understand they are supposed to connect. I want them to connect. But the prequel trilogy and the orig trig connected, and they were vastly different. This new trilogy smells of cashing in on the name. I don't think they'll change enough to make them worth standing on their own is what I mean. I don't think they will be their own movies, just shadows of the original three.
I will eat my words if I am wrong. But just my thoughts judging from the trailers, the fact Disney owns it now, the treatment of all expanded universe cannon as fan fiction, and the fact that Abrams is doing it without Lucas's involvement and story.
It's going to be empire vs rebels /Jedi dude.. It has too the first three had the character when they were young, the new ones will have characters when their old the first three had different villains maul/ general grevious, new one has a new vader lookin villain dude first three had x wings, building Death Star etc... I think your thinking too much into it dude..
I'm waiting to get back to NH in January to see it. My local theater up here is a beat down $5 per movie theater. Don't give me wrong, $5 per movie is cool but the screen/audio is so god damn shitty I'd rather wait to see it on a good screen or even watch it on my own TV compared to this place.
Death is not the worst of evils.
You can't be down, when you're always high.
Watching trainwreck tonight. Let's see if it's as good as everyone says or if it's another over hyped movie like bridesmaids that gets extra love cuz it's a female comic

Why? They pulled the same shit with Jurassic Park and its lame. Slap an old name on a new movie, and ride the money train.
