References and tie ins to the original, and piggy backing off the originals are two separate things. 

To me, the new movie is using the legacy to push it. Instead of letting it speak for itself

Well I'm a pretty objective critic. I won't live it just cuz it's star wars.. If that's your rake then that's cool but also if it sucks you can't say ifs good just cuz it's Star Wars. To me if it's good it's good if it sucks I'll say if without any holding back. We have to wait and see it first tho

It's hard for me to be optimistic about the new Star Wars because I hated the prequels and I really, really hate the way Abrams massacred Star Trek

I never liked Star Trek and still can't watch any episodes. But I can watch those movies at least

I guess I'm the only guy who didn't hate the prequels lol I mean they're not masterpieces buty'all hate them? They were still pretty good even if ani blew donkey dork

I didnt hate them. I like the original trilogy better for sure, but I still liked the prequels.

I can see why people that grew up with the original trilogy hated the prequels, episodes 1 and 2 seemed really geared towards kids.

Tbh I'm not a gigantic fan of the original trilogy anymore. Once I grew up, I kinda realized they're just cookie-cutter comic book stuff. Empire is the only one that holds my attention anymore. The first one makes me cringe in places

That probably is. They have a Star Wars movie planned every year. I'm guessing this revived trilogy will be mostly nostalgia and fan service and the other set of movies will be the branch out. Forgot where I read it but they have an untitled Star Wars movie planned for 2016 that is going to follow an independent squad of rebels and feature no characters from Star Wars. All new characters, story, etc.

Episdoe I was pretty crappy besides the battle at the end. Episode II had the potential to be one of the best Star Wars movies ever but tanked. The battle of Geonosis, the end battle with Dooku were amazing, however it was all ruined by the horrific love plot/dialogue and Hayden's shitty fucking acting. Episode III was actually pretty good. Over all I liked them lol own all 3 anyway.

I genuinely enjoy all 6 movies. Only negatives I can say is Hayden's acting is indeed atrocious and the political scenes are sometimes brutal. I don't even think phantom menace was that bad but I haven't seen it in years so maybe I need a touch up on it. I mean it had Liam fuckin neesons
