I thought he was crazy when he turned down the first 150 mil offer the O's made. I dont know why the fuck they went to 161. The only other team I heard had any interest was the Astros and theres no way they were gonna spend that kind of money on Davis.
I would have been shocked if they signed him a week ago but after seeing that and some other articles about how Hal Steinbrenner was saying a big free agent signing isnt out of the question, I wouldnt be too surprised if they could get him on a 3 or 4 year deal. It seems like he really likes playing in NY and he was great for the Mets last season. The OF is already crowded as fuck doe with Gardner, Ellsbury, Beltran, Hicks, and Judge will be ready either this season or next. We would have to trade Gardner if we got Cespedes.
Plus Chapman isnt facing any charges for that domestic violence shit so he might not get any kind of suspension. If he can play the whole season, the bullpen is gonna be too nice. I think I read somewhere that Chapman, Miller, and Betances finished first, second and third in K/9 last season.
I dont know what the fuck the Rockies were thinking. All they got was a relief pitcher and a minor leaguer. Plus they had to give up a minor leaguer of their own.
They just gave up one of their best players for a closer. They never have the lead in the 9th anyways. I feel like teams who are trying to rebuild prolly shouldnt be focusing on their bullpens.

:-?
Cespedes just got 3 years/75 million from the Mets, but an opt-out after one. So he could be right back on the market next year.
