Detroit free press ran an article about it last week. You really think the Tigers want Anthony goes starting left field? Avila is hesitant because of the financials but illitch has stated he doesn't care. If the price drops on him we have a good chance.

I found the article, there's nothing of substance in there. If Ilitch didn't care about financials the Tigers would have gone about this free agency a lot differently. Gordon just got 4 years/72 million and Cespedes is younger and better, he's going to sign for much more than that. The only way I could see it happening is if he were willing to sign a 2, maybe 3-year deal, and I find that extremely unlikely. Also, Gose is our center fielder, not our left fielder, and while I don't like the situation in left field right now either, there are more effective options than locking ourselves into another horrible contract. I find it more likely that Avila makes a smaller trade to address that.
True Cameron will play center but only when goes doesn't play, which he should only play one or two games a week. Iv heard rumors of kinsler being available but I wouldn't understand that.
Kinsler is probably their best tradeable asset next to JD, who is probably untouchable. I think they could make do with Machado at second but the return for Kinsler would have to be really solid for them to do it.
Stfu none of you have any idea how the voting process works.
each voter is only allowed to vote for 10 people. What happened is these 3 people assumed JR was getting in so they used their vote for someone else. Players are also only eligible to be voted I. For 15 years. These voters probably used their votes for guys who were near the end of their chances to get in. Which to me is completely understandable. JR is in who give a fuck what his percentage is.
Look Griffey is awesome. But I still don't totally buy that he was clean. He grew up in club houses that are know for taking amphetimines and it being ok. He was in the club house every day as a kid seeing guys take stuff that was performance enhancing and it was thought of as ok. Not only that but he was close teammates with 9 know steroids users hat were in the Mitchell report. Add in the fact that his body started braking down at 31. Not only that but his steal numbers and power numbers took a dramatic drop the year before he even started getting hurt. I hope he was clean, but I honesty doubt he was.
I'm not saying he did or didn't use, but we know Bonds 100% did. There should be an asterisk next to his home run count on the all time record leaders.
Excluding Bonds from the HOF changes what it is. It's no longer a collection of the best players to ever play the game. It's a collection of people voted in by popularity contest.
If you're honest with yourself, I think it's pretty easy to admit that the steroid era in baseball was probably the best era of our lifetimes.
